Activation Code Invalid

I have been using Jaksta Media Recorder for a long time now. I have just updated my Jaksta Media Recorder 2022 to the latest (2023.5.8.1), and my when I enter the activation key, I receive an error message "key is invalid". I have checked, and I have definitely entered the key details correctly.

I would be grateful for your assistance in activating the updated version.

Also, I now have three separate versions of Jaksta Media Recorder on my system (7, 2022 and 2023). Once I have properly activated JMR 2023, can I safely uninstall the previous versions without causing problems with JMR 2023?

Marcos... on your computer go to "this PC" and click on your downloads list. Chances are you will see the links to previous versions of Jaksta which will enable you to return to the earlier version. Before you do, check out the thread "Reinstall Jaksta 2022" on this forum and follow the steps that have been kindly explained by another contributor. JMR2023 seems to have corrupted some DVR components so the uninstalling of this version is important before reinstalling the earlier version.

If your system is set to "create a restore point" when downloading windows updates, you may be able to take your computer back to a point before JMR2023 was installed. Go to control panel, system status, system recovery. Look at the screens carefully and you will be able to discover what programmes will be affected if you run the restore. This process does not change any of your files or documents. Only proceed if you are happy to do so.

this computer is new and I do not have jaskta in included in the system restore point. What surprises me a lot is that I have no response from the company, do you know of any alternative that works like Jaksta?

Sadly the file   JMR 2022.3.13.0.exe   is too large to attach.  If you look at the thread "JMR 2023.5.8.1 update failed" started by Patricia you will find that she has linked the old version - and this may be useful to you if it works.

There may be other alternatives out there but I have never had to look as JMR has always been so reliable, it also does everything and the licence doesn't expire after six months or have to be purchased every year  as many other software companies do.

I am sure Jaksta will get this sorted in due course.

What surprises me more than anything is that there is absolutely no response from the Jaksta team. I mean, I think any of us will totally understand if they made a mistake and said: "Guys, we messed up, this version messes up the license, please wait and give us some time to release a fixed version", and that would be the end of it.

But instead.... there is total silence. No announcement on the forum, no response to support emails, nothing.....

I guess I should be happy to know I am not the only one with the license key issue, so it is not just me....

I am less enthused than @Maarten Andriessen that I am not the only one facing this issue.   I have also noticed that the 2023 update doesn't remove the 2022 software, so I manually uninstalled it. I also have the further issue that even tho I installed the most recent update v 2023.5.10.2, but when I launch JMR, it tells me I have v 2023.5.8.1 installed.  It has had this behavior for the last 2 version upgrades.  It also told me when I upgraded to v 2023.5.8.1 that I needed to re-register, however when I closed the program and opened it again, I did not get the message and my Activation Key was correctly listed in the software.

I am disheartened that so many people have raised a ticket with support without any response.  I emailed support@ yesterday and raised a proper ticket on the site today.  But I guess I shouldn't expect any miracles with getting a response..

I am current cleaning up my registry after uninstalling the software.  It seems there is alot of cruft left over for v7 v2022 and v2023. I have versions of JMR and JVC back to 7.0.0.46.  I'll probably hold out until the beginning of next week and reinstall a prior version and see if my activation key works.

Here's to hoping!!!

Have you tried reinstalling MR-2022.3.13.0?

I've had the same problem that many of you have had with the JMR-2023 Update  - it won't recopgnize my license key.

On 05-05-2023 I received an email from Jaksta support:

Your activation code will remain valid for all future versions of Jaksta for Windows.

Therfore, no new license should be necessary.

The following steps worked for me to reinstall JMR-2022.3.13.0 for Windows after the JMR-2023 update failure.

PLEASE NOTE: Thhis assumes you have a copy of JMR-2022.3.13.0.exe

1.  Completeley uninstall JMR-2023.  i used  Geek Uninstaller to do this.

      a) JMR-2023 has 3 components; NPcap, NetMonitor, and JMR-2023.  I uninstalled NeMonitor and NPCap first, then JMR-2023.

2.  If you still have JMR-2022.3.13.0 installed, try it.  If it works, great.  If not, proceed to step 3.

3.  Completeley uninstall JMR-2022.3.13.0 (see step 1, Geek Uninstaller)

4.  Reboot, then reinstall JMR-2022.3.13.0 (if you have it).

This procedure recovered JMR-2022.3.13.0, and my old license key worked.  Until they get JMR-2023 fixed, I suggest you go to the "Get Support" tab in JMR-2022 and set "Check for new version on start" to OFF.

Hope this helps.
