I have version 6 and receive the message to upgrade to the newer version. I have uninstalled, rebooted, etc. Bitdefender is determined not to allow this version to install.I restore the files and put them on the "whitelist," but then when the program starts, the files are removed.This did not happen with the previous 7.0 version.
