multiple copies of same video file?

I need to know what setting(s) to adjust so I only get 1 of each video file being downloaded.  Currently when set to "Auto" Jakstra Media Recorder 6 generates multiple copies of the same file.

many thanks, in advance

Bob

JMR should not download multiple copies of the same stream (based on source url) at the same time as existing in progress downloads are checked for a matching source url before a new one is started.

If you look at the source urls in the downloads Main Menu > Properties (Alt-Enter) they will no doubt be different, indicating different formats and/or qualities being requested by the player in the browser.

If this isnt the case then please provide your debug logs and the url of the page hosting the video where this is happening so we can check it out.

I too have this issue.  I am using Jaksta 1.5.2  I hit the file play button just once and I get it and 4 others downloading.  If I try to cancel and delete the extra 4, they disappear out of the download status window, but behind the scenes continue to download and re-appear as complete, when finished.

I do not use Mac's and do not have time or knowledge to run the debug files you requested.  I expected to use your program, not become part or your quality assurance or testing department.

I don't get the concept of this forum.  Years ago when it was an Applian product you could raise a ticket with their product support and someone would email you to resolve the issue.  Now it appears the idea is that the supplier sits back and lets everybody else guess the solution to each others problems.  Imagine if doctors surgeries adopted the same approach.......

@Robert - Response was to Mark not you.  You have already been told the answer to your question.  Not sure how you think you are doing testing for us, but if your still having an issue then the debug logs tell us what the software is doing on your machine so we can answer your question.  Sites change the way they stream all the time so yes there may be changes we have to make to our software to support these changes.

@Mark -  Jaksta has never been an Applian product.  We make their products for them (they white brand them from us).  Forum support allows users to see solutions to common problems.  You are speaking directly to the Developer's btw.  We do our own support.   Im sure Ben will be a long soon to answer your question in the Mac forum.

@CRS.  All I know is when i had Media Catcher from Applian, the after sales was spot on.  I reposted in the Mac room and guess what - no reply.  Testament that solutions via forums may be great for suppliers/developers, but are unsatisfactory for end users.

@mark if you have an applian product contact their support and see how you go. It's the same product as they white brand it from us and in all but trivial cases we tell them what to say anyway. In the case of your question they will probably not be able to answer it as it is a non standard type question and it will end up in Ben's que anyway. ill check in with Ben to see why he has answered you yet on the mac forum.
